As the Disney executive in charge of the Aladdin account, Al Konetzni came up with the idea for the Disney School Bus kit, which at nine million units, became the biggest selling kit of all time. What most people don't know however, is that Konetzni also sketched out drawings for a Ludwig Von Drake dome kit in 1961. For whatever reason, the idea was never realized. The concept for the box was "Prof. Ludwig Von Drake's Traveling Library." This concept art for the front of a lunch box depicts Ludwig Von Drake surrounded by books and standing in front of a bus. The design was created on a sheet of 7" x 8" tracing paper. The entire sheet is covered by the art, done in pastel and colored pencil. This drawing is signed by Al Konetzni. I purchased this item in November, 2003.

It wasn't until the late 1960s, when rock and blues players like Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Mike Bloomfield, and Peter Green began to discover and capitilize on the fat, warm voice of the '59 Standard. This moment in history marked the beginning of the idealization of the '59 Les Paul as the Holy Grail of guitars in the minds of professionals, collectors, and weekend warriors. This guitar is part of the Gibson Historic Collection, and is the most accurate reissue series Gibson's Custom Shop has ever produced. If you could walk into a music store in 1959 and buy a Les Paul off the shelf, this is exactly what you'd get. Needless to say, the guitar is simply gorgeous. This guitar is fairly expensive, even for Custom Shop models, but it's worth every penny! From the AA flamed maple top, to the solid mahogony neck and back, this guitar just shouts "quality" at every curve. If you are going to own only one Gibson, this certainly is the one to own. I purchased this guitar in January, 2005.

Since its release in 1960, the Gibson Hummingbird has lured players with its sweet, velvet tone and distinctive appearance. Today, Gibson acoustic guitars are still made one-at-a-time, by hand. No shortcuts. No substitutions. They're made in Bozeman, Montana, where the climatic conditions are ideal for guitar building. Most importantly, Gibson acoustic guitars are built by master craftspeople who have dedicated their lives to building the world's finest acoustic instruments. Everything about this guitar shouts quality. I've only owned two acoustic guitars before this one, and this will be the last one I need to own. Want? Now that's another story. The serial number was stamped on Friday, March 19, 2004. It was the 39th guitar stamped that day. I purchased this guitar in December, 2004.

Who says you don't get a second chance in life? After nearly 20 years, Hasbro has decided to bring the Transformers back to life with a Commemorative Series. All the popular characters are back-- Optimus Prime, Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, and many others. Hopefully Soundwave and Megatron will also be made available in future series'. This time around, I won't be destroying these gems!

The original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was released in the US in August, 1985, and was an instant hit. Its graphics were far superior to any home-based console that had come before it, and it went on to sell over 60 million units worldwide. After the video game crash of 1983, the market softened. Nintendo took a chance on a fledgling industry and the rest is history. There were over 700 games produced for the NES, with hundreds being top-notch titles. Nintendo's first party games, like The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Brothers, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, and Metroid are all classics and still considered classics even in today's generation.

The Rickenbacker has been one of my favorites since first seeing Paul McCartney with one. Handmade in America. This guitar is famous for its ringing sustain, treble punch and solid underlying bass tones. A subtle strip of binding graces the elegantly curved body and the Rosewood fingerboard. Deluxe triangular inlays and stereo capability are standard features. The black Jetglo finish is flawless, and the lines on this guitar are amazing! Rickenbacker is known for their attention to detail, and this guitar is more like a work of art that just so happens to make beautiful sounds. This guitar was manufactured the week of October 3-9, 2004. I purchased this guitar in December, 2004.
